This Privacy Policy explains how the Ewan platform, owned by Al Waseet Al Zaki for Building Materials Trading and based in the State of Qatar, Commercial Registration No. 231223 — Commercial License No. 311403, collects, processes, and protects your personal and commercial data.

This Policy applies to all users of the Platform — suppliers, factories, contractors, design companies, real-estate developers, and visitors — and covers the website together with all of its applications and associated services.

This Policy forms an integral part of the Platform's General Terms and Conditions, and your use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of its provisions.

Article 1 Data We Collect

We may collect the following categories of data, depending on how you use the Platform:

  • Establishment data: company name, commercial registration, statutory licenses, professional certificates, address, and contact details.
  • Supporting documents: whatever is uploaded to verify identity or commercial activity, including signed agreements.
  • Transaction data: orders, requests for price quotations, submitted offers, invoices, and purchase and sales history.
  • Payment data: payment status and bank transfer receipts. The Platform does not store complete bank card details.
  • Correspondence data: messages exchanged through the Platform, complaints, and support requests.
  • Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, pages visited, and access times.

Article 2 How We Collect Data

  1. Data you provide directly when registering, uploading documents, or creating requests and offers.
  2. Data collected automatically while you browse the Platform, through cookies and similar technologies.
  3. Data we receive from third parties, such as payment service providers or verification bodies, within the limits permitted by law.

Article 3 Purposes of Processing

  • The competent authorities: where there is a legal request or order, or to protect the rights of the Platform and its users.

Article 6 Cookies

The Platform uses cookies to operate essential services such as maintaining your login session, the shopping cart, and language preference, and to measure performance and improve the user experience.

You can control or delete cookies from your browser settings, noting that disabling essential cookies may prevent some of the Platform's services from functioning correctly.

Article 7 Data Retention

  1. We retain your data throughout the period your account remains active on the Platform.
  2. We retain records of transactions, invoices, and signed agreements for the period required by the accounting and commercial laws in force in the State of Qatar.
  3. Once the purpose of retention no longer applies, the data is securely deleted or anonymised.

Article 8 Data Security

The Platform takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data, including encryption of communications, password hashing, restriction of access privileges, and periodic review of systems.

Nevertheless, the security of any means of electronic transmission or storage cannot be absolutely guaranteed. The User undertakes to maintain the confidentiality of their login credentials and to notify the Platform immediately upon suspecting any unauthorized use of their account.

Article 9 User Rights

In accordance with the laws in force in the State of Qatar, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data the Platform holds about you.
  • Request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request the deletion of your data, unless a legal or contractual obligation to retain it exists.
  • Object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
  • Lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in the State of Qatar.

Article 10 Data of Minors

The Platform is intended for commercial dealings between establishments and adults. It is not directed at persons under the age of eighteen and does not knowingly collect their data. If it becomes apparent that data belonging to a minor has been collected, it is deleted as soon as this comes to our knowledge.

Article 11 Transfer of Data Outside the State

Some data may be stored or processed with service providers outside the State of Qatar. In such cases, the Platform undertakes to put in place appropriate safeguards to protect the data in a manner consistent with the laws in force in the State of Qatar.

Article 13 Amendments to this Policy

The Platform may amend this Privacy Policy whenever necessary. The amendment becomes effective from the date of its publication on the Platform or from the date specified in the amendment notice. Your continued use of the Platform after the amendment takes effect is deemed acceptance of it, without prejudice to any rights granted to you by law.

Article 14 Governing Law

This Policy is subject to the laws in force in the State of Qatar, in particular the legislation relating to the protection of personal data privacy, and the Qatari judiciary has jurisdiction to decide any dispute arising from it.

This Policy was drawn up in the Arabic language, and the Arabic version is the approved reference for its interpretation and application. In the event of any conflict between any translation and the Arabic version, priority shall be given to the Arabic version, unless the applicable law provides otherwise.
